Though I admit this will get trickier with larger organisations.
This reminds me of another episode with my prev org (indy) who introduced a 9.15 work hour policy. you'll be aware of this I believe. Now the fact that work hours many a times blur into non-office hours was ignored here. Also with Infy, most of their campuses are outside city limits significantly increasing commute time. I am not sure if this actually benefited the org but for sure it had lots of disgruntled employees!
To me any policy that constrains employee independence will be counter productive in the long run!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10894972097205886726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21204886126887297.post-64707048268416395792013-03-02T07:01:07.237-08:002013-03-02T07:01:07.237-08:00Hi Ramesh

On one hand our advertisers want everybody to be extremely aspirational and on the other hand we have increasing amount of product portfolios catering to the lower rung! It is indeed ironic. But if a Karbon or Micromax still makes profits and sees a rosy future, along with the Mercedes and BMW, then I suppose we'll be forced to believe that our society is indeed an eclectic mix and no one marketing technique will suffice. Enterprise Architects...I think the answer is yes.

Enterprise Architects are in the right place at right time. This is because of the industry phenomena emerging that is driving enterprise architecture capabilities out of corporate shared service information technology -- the phenomena we see is called externalized service delivery. Externalization of applications development, infrastructure operations, and back-office processes will gradually erode the “factory” side of the internal IT function. The pace will accelerate as the cloud enables the externalization of up to 80% of application lifetime spends. As this occurs, internal information technology roles will shift from being technology providers to technology brokers and the scope of the internal “Group IT” information technology function will diminish -- its headcount fall by 75% or more.
Strategy, architecture, risk, planning, and governance will (for the most part – depending on organization) be reallocated from information technology into a shared business services level, not within the information technology function.Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00547329126961523077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21204886126887297.post-79518229065711730182010-05-27T22:03:01.898-07:002010-05-27T22:03:01.898-07:00The "Carte Blanche" authority given to t...The "Carte Blanche" authority given to the various embassies needs a review as most of them are ill informed or are perhaps playing safe for obvious reasons.I personally feel they should be more knowledgeable and use their discretion more intelligently on case by case basis, and decide with some logic. They can refer the issue to their superiors or seek more clarifications from tourists if the need arises, for their satisfaction.RAMAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12666127919743294386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21204886126887297.post-72653891018749954032010-04-25T19:46:33.517-07:002010-04-25T19:46:33.517-07:00Gaurav,
